R.J. DAVIS m. Mary N.,before 1855. Were in Dale Co., AL for Civil War. Had 3 children. Mary came to Terrell County where she raised the children. R.J. "married" twice more and had 5 more children. He died c. 1888 Sumner, GA Mary died 1905 - buried in Sasser. Their son, Walter Colquitt DAVIS married Emma Georgia McGILL of Webster Co.

PERKINS family moved to Terrell County in 1920's from nw AL. Married into DAVIS family.

WEATHERSBY's came from Stewart County about 1880's. Tom WEATHERSBY was blacksmith in Bronwood. He was married to Julia Leonora BOWERS. Married into DAVIS family.

I am searching for information on Thomas Jefferson AVERA. He married Harriet COCHRAN in Terrell County in 1870. I am looking for any information about his FIRST wife, believed to be Mary MARSH, who he married judging from the birth of their first child, about 1859-1861. Any information concerning Thomas Jefferson AVERA and/or Mary MARSH would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to find information on Henrietta PRIEST born Dec. 26, 1900 to Martha Elizabeth THOMPSON Priest and Henry Kimble PRIEST. Her birth certificate states Worth County as place of birth but was scratched over with Terrell County. Any information on this family or ancestors would be appreciated.

I am searching for information on William MILLER, b. abt 1828, d. 1870 in Mississippi. He served in the Dawson Volunteers, Co. E, 5th Rgmt, 1862-1864. I always thought he was from Cobb County and am curious why he enlisted in Terrell County. I have been unable to find any other information on him or his parentage. His wife's first name was Mary S. unsure of her maiden name. They also called her "S.E.". I believe that William originally came to GA From S.C. I would like to know any parentage on him and his wife. I think his home was in Cobb County until 1865 when he moved to Desoto County, Mississippi, dying in 1870. He and Mary had 4 children: William P., James A., Robert Morgan and Etta(Eda). I would appreciate any information! Thanks!!

I am looking for information on Ellen Caroline CARTER b. March 14, 1854, d. January 10, 1940. She married William Henry ERAMBERT, Sr. November 26, 1860 in Americus, Terril Co. Ga. All of these are direct ancestors of mine which I am researching and have found in census records as living in Terrell County. I hope to be traveling to Georgia soon and would appreciate any information which would assist me in finding more information on these individuals.

I plan to visit Terrell County in two weeks, and I hope to find the grave of my great-great-grandfather, Daniel KENNEDY, in the Simpson Cemetery, four miles east of Bronwood. Can anyone tell me how to find this cemetery? His grave is supposed to have a War of 1812 marker, according to the History of Terrell County, Georgia, by Melton and Raines. Also, does anyone know if copies of this book are still available? Thanks for any information.
