KENNEDY posted by Alice Kennedy Lee on Monday, February 8, 1999

Can anyone tell me if the Stone Castle DAR records contain a photo of the marker they put on the grave of my great-great-grandfather, Daniel KENNEDY, for service in the War of 1812? I wrote to the library over a month ago, but have not received an answer. I would appreciate any help on this matter. I am very anxious to have such a picture, and will gladly pay for copies and mailing. We were there in December, but the library was closed. Thanks in advance!

I am looking for information on my Great Grandfather (Black) George Amos WILLIAMS (b. 1857 d.1938). He lived in Parrott before moving to Worth County. His wife was Dorcas WHEARRY WILLIAMS. They had 12 children: Mayso -(Daniel), Sam, Ira, James, Rosetta, Sara, Della, Kate, Georgia, Corine, Exie & Queen. He moved his family to a farm on the Worth County line where the family property is to this day. As he would never talk about his family, we have virtually no information on them. He was a Mason, and sometimes acted as a veternarian for some of the locals. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

CANNON, CASH posted by Douglas L. Foster on Thursday, March 11, 1999

I am seeking any information about the descendants and ancestors of the Mary/Polly CANNON who was listed in the Dekalb County Census records of 1830, 1840 and 1850. She resided in the Buckhead District. In the 1830 census her household contained 4 sons and 1 daughter. I have found the sons to be: John C. CANNON, William CANNON, James W. CANNON and Henry B. CANNON. I have not as yet learned the given name of the daughter, but she married George Washington CASH in the early 1840s, had 4 children and died about 1849 as did her husband.

Three of the sons were included in two adjacent households of the 1850 Sumter County, GA census. They were: John C. CANNON, James W. CANNON and Henry B. CANNON. James W. CANNON was listed as age 27 and occupation wood sawyer. He had a wife, Emily __?__ age 22, and sons, Jasper H. CANNON age 3, ?laul CANNON, age 1, and Randal CANNON, age 4/12. In the 1880 Georgia Soundex I found a Jasper CANNON listed in Terrell County with wife, Mary age 24 and 4 sons: Jackson age 7, James age 6, William age 4, and Idus? age 2/12.

I think that Mary/Polly CANNON'S husband was a Henry CANNON whom she married in Clarke County, GA on 24 February 1808, and that she had at least 2 more children: Elijah CANNON, b. 1809 and Almon CANNON, b. 1812, both of whom moved to Tennessee in the early 1830s. Almon CANNON was my great grandfather. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Looking for information on a Robert E. WRIGHT who was in Terrell Co. in the 1860s, who was apparently in the CSA, and who has children listed in the census--one is a Marion A. WRIGHT--who may have been the Marion Alexander WRIGHT who was my great-grandfather! Marion was orphaned when he was young, according to a letter he had written. Am wondering if this Robert E. was his father!
