Searching for any information of the family of Benjamin and Sarah MCNEIL / MCNEAL of Terrell County. Son Larkin Franklin MCNEAL was my GG Grand. He was the h/o 1) Rebecca STROMAN 2) Martha HARDEN. I have been told that they are tied to the Cleveland family, (of Benjamin CLEVELAND, controversial hero of the Battle of King's Mountain), but I have yet to find the connection.

I am looking for info on John Melton STOKES b. 9/18/1849 in Macon Co.? Ga. I do not know anything about his parents or siblings. Some older family members think his father was named John Wesley STOKES, which also was the name of his first son. I have fairly complete records after he moved to McLennan Co, Tx about 1881. The Ga. Book of Marriages-Terrell Co, gives the following info: J.M. STOKES married Lizzie HASTY March 6, 1875. I don't think HASTY was her correct name.I believe it was Elizabeth L.HASTINGS b. 1848 Ga. According to the 1880 Ga.

Census records. The 1880 census (vol. 23, E.D. 78, sheet 52, line 26, in the 12th dist. #811) lists: John M. age 31 farmer, wife Elizabeth 32 yrs old born Ga. ,dau Willie 4 yrs. (Willer Bell), son John age 2 yrs. (John Wesley), N.R. Agnes (Agnes May) age 2/30 all born Ga., and an orphan in the home, Ann Mobley 17 yrs .b.Ga. The infant died in McLennan Co, Tx Oct.16,1882 and was buried at Bruceville, Tx-Cox Cemetery next to her mother which states: E.L. STOKES (no dates). John Melton had 3 more children by Elizabeth "Lizzie" that were born in Texas; Sam J. b.2/2/1884, Monte Z. b.5/19/85, Carrie Ann b.2/18/87. John Melton m.3/22/92 Annie Virginia CLIFTON b.4/65. John & Annie had 4 children: D.K. b.9/22/92 (my grandfather), Lee Roy b.7/8/94, Susie Lela b. 12/7/96, & William Hamilton b.8/22/98.

If anyone knows about these Ga. Stokes it would really be appreciated.

Would like to obtain information prior to Jesse WESTON of Terrell County. Possibly who the slave owners were. Where the name "WESTON" was obtained. Did they arrive in Georgia or did they come from another state? Any information would be appreciated.

Henry and Martha were married 28 Feb 1888 in Taylor Co., GA.

Seeking information on James A. BROWN b. abt 1861 and wife, Maggie A. JONES BROWN, b. abt 1870. James and Maggie had children in Lafayette Co., FL but census indicates James was born in GA. Other BROWNs of the same timeframe living in Lafayette Co. are indicated as being from Terrell Co., GA. James arrived in Lafayette Co. sometime before 1888 as he and Maggie were married there. Appreciate any feedback.

I am seeking information on the PRICE family of Terrell County Ga. I believe Joseph Thomas PRICE born 1831 is the brother of Dr. Jon Edward PRICE of South Carolina and Alabama. Would like to contact any descendant of Joseph Thomas PRICE's please. Was John T's father Joseph who came to South Carolina in 1818, and did the family come from Rhiwias, Merionethshire Wales.

Searching for the relatives of my gr-gr-gr grandfather, Bluford PITTMAN. Bluford (1815-1891) is buried in Worth County, Ga. (Sumner Ga) next to his wife Sarah A. ?. We know from census records that Bluford lived in Colquitt County, Brooks County, and Worth County. We have reason to believe that a man named Joel Sheppard PITTMAN, Sr. was BLuford's brother. Joel married a girl named Mary KENNEDY from Terrell County in the 1840's. Members of her family are buried in Terrell and Sumter Counties. Joel and Mary plus several of her brother's families picked up and moved to Magnolia, Arkansas around 1850. Soon after Joel enlisted in the CSA and was arrested for desertion. He later died in a military prison in Rock Island, Ill. We are desperately searching for any leads that can tell us (1) is Joel the brother of Bluford? (2) Who their family is? (3) Where they came from? Thanks for any help!!!
