Looking for the name of a cemetery off Stonewall Street in Dawson, GA or some information about a monument erected by the Mary Brantley Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy which says: "Erected by mary Brantley Chapter, U.D.C., to mark the last resting place of the slaves who died during the War Between the States"
Hi All, I am looking for any information on Lizzie Peterson Walton. She was said to be born in Georgia July 1879. Her father's name is unknown and stated on her death certificate her mother's name was Fannie - maiden name Williams. From family oral history, and from census information they lived in Dawson,Ga., and died there as well. Willard Walton died sometime after the 1930 census was taken because I find him listed, and Lizzie P. Walton died on April abt the 4,1969 in Dawson, and her daughter Esta Walton - Floyd was still living in Dawson at that time. Stated on Lizzie Peterson's married Willard Walton in Stewart Co., Ga on April 8,1894, and from the 1900 census they lived in Scienceville, Ga (Stewart Co) for a little while. Listed with them where three children, born William Walton b. Sep 1894 Willard Walton b. Dec. 1897 Esta Walton b. Sep. 1899 Lizzie & Willard had three more children... Fannie Mae Walton (married Fred Porter) Oscar Walton Sammie Lee Walton This family is said to have lived in Dawson,Ga until their death'by the oldest living grandson. It is also stated on Lizzie's death certificate that she is buried at Sardis Cemetery in Dawson. Family history also states that Esta Walton married Tom Floyd, as well as Lizzie's mother Fannie was said to have been full blooded Creek. From what is remembered by the oldest living grand child is that they are said to be buried in the same cemetery. I have had no luck in finding any information on my Great-Great grandfather Willard Walton nor, have I had any luck in gathering any type of information on my Great-Great-Great grand parent's Fannie Williams - Peterson. The only thing that I found in the 1930 census was a sister-in-law living with my Great-Great grandfather Willard & granny Lizzie named Tannie/Tommie Murry, and that she was widowed with 5 adopted children... May R. Murry Vinssa Murry Hattie L. Murry Will Murry May Murry And they all lived in Militia Dist 1154. I have only been able to track this family in the 1900 and the 1930 Ga census. I am hoping that I have given enough information to aid in my family search. Any and all information would be very much welcome. God bless Diane

Is there anyone out there that can vertify a marker that stands near the town of Parrot in Terrell county Georgia? This marker lists Allison Culpepper and 4 othere men as Primitive Baptist Ministers. Henry PARKER, who was originally from Florence, Stewart County, Georgia. At some time after the 1880 (but by 1900) Census in Stewart County, he moved to Terrell County. His wife was named Emma ____ and they had at least 4 children, of which at least 2 were boys (Luther(?) aged 15 in 1900 and Abe aged 14). On the 1910 census they had a granddaughter by the name of Belle FULLER (age 11), but all of their children were up and out of the house. I want to know what happened to them and Belle. Did Abe Parker leave Georgia eventually finding his way to Philadelphia? Was one of their children a girl named Anne PARKER who married John EVANS in Dawson in approximately 1903 and had sons George and Willard by 1910? Steve (Stephen) and Gardner Lee lived in Terrell county, not far from the Parkers. Steve died in 1951, but had children (among them Theo, Robert--Bobby, Dewey, Fannydina and Ruthadina). The children would be elderly by now but could still be alive. Gardner had children by the name of Eddy (eddie) and Mamie. I am certain they had children, but I have no way to know their names or where they are. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
I am looking for any information on Lizzie P. Walton. The information I have so far is... Willard Walton (people called him Mutton/Uncle Mutton), born Dec. 1896. Esta/Ester Walton born Sept. 1899 - married Tom Floyd. Fannie Mae Walton birth is unknown, but she married Fred Porter. Oscar Walton, birth is unknown. Sammie Lee Walton, born abt. 1911. He was the youngest, and they called him Buddy/Uncle Buddy. Lizzie P Walton, passed away in Dawson, Ga on April 4, 1969. The only Ga census that I have been able to locate her in was the 1930 census Terrell Co., Ga Dist. 1154. Lizzie and her husband's surname was spelled as Wallton. I was born in Terrell County in 1960 and I'm trying to get found out who my great-grandfather and mother were on my Dad's side of the family. My grandfather's name was Bennie G. Dunnaway and his father's name was Tom. Both of them were born in Terrell County as well. If possible I would like to get a copy of my great-grandfather's birth or death certificate.
