WILKERSON, WILKINSON posted by Theresa Minor on Friday, March 19, 2004

Found James W. Wilkinson in 1880 census of Browns Station, Terrell Co., GA. My James was born 1832, married Georgia, and we know of one child Sallie born in 1868. The census has James W., Elizabeth G. (could be Georgia) and they have 7 children-Sallie, Robert L.E., Minnie A., Mittie P., Tirney G., James W., and infant son. Believe this James is the oldest son Henry Leroy Wilkerson who also went by Leroy and the name was often misspelled Wilkinson and his wife, Sarah (Sallie) Martin born in 1809 in Lberty, GA. They were married September 21, 1830 in Warren Co., GA. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

CLARK, HAYES posted by Neta M. Acuna on Saturday, April 10, 2004

I am searching for any info on JAMES HOMER CLARK, aka. Homer, b. Abt. 1869, d. June 10, 1899, Dawson, Georgia and was buried at the Simmons Place, Terrell Co., s.w. of Dawson, Georgia along with a younger brother, mother, and father. I believe he was born in Dawson, GA also. He married Anna Eliza Hayes (Hays), b. February 16, 1871 (Lee Co., Georgia), in 1889 in Dawson, Terrell Co., Georgia. They had 5 children: William Frank, Dennis, Lily, Claude, and Sarah Ann (my Grandmother). After Homer's death Anna Eliza moved to Putnam, Tx with her brother John Clark. She married Robert (Bob) Richardson in Dallas, TX and had 5 more children: C.B., J.T., Bill, Olphelia, and Vera. Also seeking info on James Homer Hayes' in-laws: John and Martha McClendon (McLendon) Clark who moved to Dawson, Terrell Co.,Georgia from Tennessee. It is possible that they are also buried at the Simmons Place, Terrell Co., s.w. of Dawson, Georgia.

FREE, ROWLAND posted by Elizabeth Free McManaway on Sunday, April 18, 2004

I am a researcher doing work on the Free, Rowland, Watson families in South Georgia. Some lived in Worth County (Sylvester) and one, in particular, was Renno J. Free my father's brother. Uncle Renno was the Sheriff (or some law enforcement officer) in Worth County for many years and was married to Bette Watson. If any researchers in that area can exchange info with me, I would love to hear from you. Liz Free McManaway, Lawrenceville, Georgia (originally from Habersham County, Ga. Batesville & Clarkesville area)
