I am looking for information on the family of Dr. Jon Edward PRICE d.b. 24 Sept. 1826 in Columbia South Carolina. He was the son of Joseph PRICE and Hepzibah MCCRELLES of South Carllina. Dr. PRICE first appeared in Abbeville, Alabama in 1846. He married Mila Henrietta KIRKLAND 27 Aug 1846. They had five children Robert, Kate, Mattie, Emma, and Anna Belle. Dr. PRICE served in the 6th Alabama Infantry as Assistant Regimental Surgeon until a Board of Medical Examiners told he had to leave the Army because of heart trouble. He died 26 Mar 1898 in Headland, Alabama. He might have had a brother that was a 2nd Lt. in Co. K 31st Ga. Inf. I would like to confirm this please.

REYNOLDS, SHOCKLEY posted by John P. Johnston on Tuesday, October 11, 2005

Hello! My wife's gr.gr. grandfather was Wm. Benjamin Reynolds (1833 - 1905), a Confederate soldier, who came to Pike County, Alabama from Marion County, Georgia. I have learned that Ben Reynolds had a brother named Joseph D. Reynolds (born 2 November 1826), who married Martha Shockley. Joseph D. and Martha Reynolds were living in Randolph Co., Ga. in 1860. Martha shows up (apparently as a widow) on the 1870 census of Terrell County, Ga. and living in the household with her were two sons, Joseph (age 19) and William (age 12). It seems likely that Jos. D. Reynolds, the father, MIGHT have been a Civil War casualty, but that is just theory at this point. Would enjoy hearing from anyone who might be a descendant of Joseph D. and Martha Reynolds.
