LOCKETTE, SHEPARD posted by Tamara Hampton Nelson on Thursday, May 18, 2006

I am looking for Margaret Lockette Shepard. All I know is she was born around 1857 in South Carolina. She may have been married to or she did have children by a William Allen Shepard. They had 3 children that I know of: Allen Henry Shepard born 1878 died May 9, 1927 in Sylvester, GA. He was my Great Grandfather. Dock Shepard was born Dec 14, 1883 and died October 24, 1970 in Albany, GA. And, Lillie Shepard Page was born October 19, 1879 and died Feb 15, 1974 in Albany. Allen and Dock Shepard owned a funeral home in Sylvester, GA. They were all mulatto. Not sure who was black or who was white, Margaret or William. Probably William.

TURNER posted by Tim Whalen on Wednesday, June 21, 2006

Does anyone know of Jessie (Jesse) Turner, 1920 Ga census of Terrell County, married to Annie Kate. By the 1930 Terrell County census, Jesse is obviously deceased. His widow appears to be Minnie E. Turner, with son Jesse C. age 3. My interest is in Annie Kate. What happened to her? Divorce or deceased? Would love to know.

I have found my ancestors on the 1930 census. E J Mathews was a teacher, his wife didn't work. Guyton M Mathews had his own tayloring business at age 23. Are death records available? I've already wasted $30 on request to the state.

How can I contact any of his descendants? My PRICE Dr. Jon PRICE was Joseph's brother. Dr. PRICE married Mila KIRKLAND in Alabama in 1846. They had Robert, Kate Frances, Mattie McCrelles, Emma, and Anna Belle. My line comes through Emma PRICE who married John Thomas SOLOMON of Headland, Alabama.
